the trusses would have met the old building code. they don't go over. new code requires a larger setback from property line to eaves, so yes, I will cut them back. That why I haven't sheeted that side yet. Maybe cut them back tomorrow.

Framing nearly done. Probably a couple hours work left. Will probably get the framing inspection next week. I ordered siding/insulation/drywall/shingles today. Called one paving company, and they never showed up to do the quote, and called another, and never got a call back. The asphalt is pretty much the last big expense.

Anyone have reccomendations for garage insulation? I have an 3 car attached with 2x4 framing (boo). All the bats that I have seen are R-12/14 but I would like to go higher than that.

I may just break down and go with the R-12 since I want to get my benches in place and slot wall.

Thats probably the way to go. Shove bigger stuff in the roof.

Use Ruxal, you can't go wrong. It is fireproof and mildew proof and is actually a bit easier to install.

Yah, that is what I am going to end up doing. I talked to the guys at Totem and they told me that was really my only option.

I looked at the Roxul stuff, but I figure since my house extends above the garage it does not make it worth the extra cost. If the garage catches fire, the rest of the house will too.
