      Re: Garage Build

I used Steve's U-cart and would highly recommend it. Only issue you might have is the time needed to transport/pour/clean/return. It takes longer than you think it will to do all that. They are on the east side of the city (not far from 5th Ave if I remember correctly).

If you have any specific questions about it just let me know. It saved me a lot of money and only a bit more work, if I recall I think it was actually cheaper than buying mix from H/Depot and mixing my own.

I'm planning on using the Yards Plus U-Cart, because it is a bit closer to my place. But good to know the concept at least works well. And yeah, pretty sure its less that the cost of mixing bags on your own.

Only thing is just make sure you have something that can mix up the concrete a bit when you get it to the house as the rock will settle to the bottom.

That's awsome, did you pull that thing with your TDI? I sure would have
If you need a hand with any of the electrical, I know someone else has volunteered, but as long as I am in town I can probably come by and give you hand.

                      Re: Garage Build

thanks for the offer. I'm probably going to tackle at least some electrical on my own, but always nice to know I have a fallback plan if I can't do it .

Towing with the TDI would have been awesome!.. Guy said someone did it with a ranger, so I'm sure a TDI could do it... probably have a hot clutch by the time I made it back.. lol.

lol...meh...When I drove to Ontario I saw several people with TDI's towing things up the hills through Northern Ontario such as dual Jet Ski's, tent trailers, motorcycles, u-haul trailers, all sorts of things. These beasts can handle it.

                          Re: Garage Build

Yeah, I met a guy towing an oldskool tent trailer (heavy one) in and out of Toffino. He was chipped, but said the car did quite well hauling out of there, and that a fairly up and down windy road.

Curb walls look good this morning. Will clean up the mess and post a pic later.

Got the curb walls done, and got the front of the pad to grade and ready for asphalt.
