I would say keep it level, and slope a little at the end. I know wet cement does not exactly work that way, but thats how a perfect pour would work I guess with slope.

right... if you're coming, you're bringing a shovel

Truck should be there at 8am on saturday, and I'm sure we will be there finishing for quite a while.

Mine slopes like 1/2 " in 26 ' (detached) never have a problem with drainage in the winter time and do the smooth finish way easier to keep clean.

well wtf... no concrete showed up.

Big boourns to Rite-Way Ready Mix, and a big thanks to Lafarge for getting a load in for later in the afternoon on short notice.

Got it poured, although we had planned to start at 8 when it was cool to give us more time to finish it. Truck never showed, so we were pouring at 2 competing with heat and wind. Turned out alright though.

Pretty ridiculous that they plain didn't show up. I even asked specifically about weekend pours, and reminded them that it was a long weekend, because lots of places don't pour on weekends let alone long ones. They said no problem and did the pre-auth on my card and everything.

So how much does it cost to do a pad like that?

                      Re: Garage Build

think it was 1370$ for concrete. Not including rebar and forming lumber There was an extra fee for a saturday pour.

                      putting on a sealer tomorrow.

anyone savvy with the building code? I'll call on tuesday, but if anyone knows i the meantime...

I have 2 options for my garage entrance. One is slope the landscaping 6 inches down to the door, which leaves more space in the garage, but make planning for drainage tricky, because water will want to gather in the slope area up to the door, but it can be dealt with.

Option two is leave the landscaping level, which is easy, and put a 6" step inside the garage. I think the building code may require a landing in the garage if I do this. I need to know if I need a landing, and how big it needs to be.
