    Re: Garage Build

Good idea on the 2x6 walls, makes a big difference. Since your back ally is paved make sure they make your pad low enough so you don't have a huge curb going into your garage. It seems like they always make them so high so they don't have to dig down as far but it makes it a pain for lowered cars.

      Re: Garage Build

they are digging.... my alley is sloped pretty good, so the uphill side of the pad will be nearly flush with alley and downhill side of pad will be 8.5 inches high. I pulled the whole thing in to the yard a little extra to make room for a more gentle ramp.

doesn't matter to me, i'd just need to know where you want to put the panel and where the house panel is to get you a quote that's fairly close

                  fence post WTF??!?

landscaper dug out most of it, could't move it (with bobcat). I dug down more by hand after he left (hoping to save him some time in the morning).

That 2T jack is maxed out in the pic. what the hell? We'll ram it with the bobcat in the morning a few more times, and if that fails, off to rent a jackhammer.....

who the hell installs a fence post like that??!??

                    Re: Garage Build

That's what happens when a post hole gets rounded out too much and you don't use a sonotube.

I was crossiron mills today and they have a liftking store, looks like you can get a pretty decent lift for $3000 in case you're interested.

They have a nice radiant heater for 899 on special right now too.

If anyone is interested in the lifts or garage heaters let me know.

I work for liftking and can probably get a deal for eurodriver members.

                          Ok, busy day.

This one is actually yesterday, before digging, after garbage/shed is gone.

Here is that bastard fence post... pwnd!

                          Crush arives

Pad leveled. Had a little excess material (on the right). Will deal with it later.

Might try and rend a tamper tomorrow if I can find me a truck.

Thx Kevin @ River's Edge Landscaping for the bobcat work and fence post extraction!

got the compaction done. maybe forms this week?

that rona van rental was a decent deal (to get compactor over). 19.95 for 1.5hrs, but that included my first 15-20 mins to get the compactor, and then brought van back and took it out a few hours later to return compactor with no extra charge (well.. 40cents/km, for a whole 6 km combined).
