        Re: RC guys

nice! I see the losi mini rock crawler in there.

Mine are in a corner in the basement :( once the basement is finished though

I'm going to liquidate some of my stuff though. I think I'm going to sell the brushless micro and probably one of the clods.

Edit: question though, it looks like you have a DX3 how come you don't have them all running off that? Or are you just slowly buying the overpriced receivers 1 at a time?

Just bought a Sukhoi SU-26M today...

Pretty fun, but not really my thing after flying it... I think I prefer the helicopters.

If someone's interested, I'll sell it to them.

            I have the same one.
Very much fun to fly, with a bonus that I can fly it out of my backyard which is nice when I don't want to load up the car and lug my planes out to the park.
I do wish it had a more powerful motor though, so I could do some harrier maneuvers with it.
Definitely not for the beginner though. The thing is very twitchy and requires constant and focused attention. Take your eye off of it for a second and it will go into the ground.

Where do people fly in Calgary? I know there's a spot east on McKnight, but can I just go to a school yard? Rules/Laws?

I'm not from Calgary, but from what I understand both Calgary and Edmonton have city bylaws prohibiting the use of RC aircraft and other RC vehicles in city parks and streets. Although, most people I know who fly park flyers have and do fly in parks and they have not run into any problems with authorities.
IMO, if you use common sense like not flying nitros in the parks or not flying your park flyers when the parks are congested with people, you should be ok.
Basically, if you don't give anyone cause to complain, you shouldn't have any issues.
I only fly my planes when the parks are empy and usually if anyone does pass by, they usuualy just stop and watch the planes for a bit and move on.

Keep in mind though, if you do crash your plane into someone's property (car, house, ect.) or worse into a person, you're on your own liability wise.

If you do not want to take any chances what so ever, I suggest joining a local RC club who has a flying field.

                      Re: RC guys

I played a little more with the Sukhoi today.... now I'm loving it. It took a bit to get my controller setup properly... but it's easy to fly now and a total blast.

To answer the "where do you fly"... I agree with the above. As long as you use common sense, you shouldn't have a problem. If you have a plane/heli with any sort of serious power though, you'll probably want to join up with one of the RC clubs.

Old picture. Since this picture, engine swap to a picco max .26, wide ratio gear box, forward only conversion, new arms (RPM), bunch of other stuff (yellow antenna shaft ). stock radio.
