i have not seen or heard of ANYONE receiving a ticket. i've seen many flashes, but no tickets.

has anyone gotten or seen someone get a ticket from these?

i am curious

There's a thread on Beyond where a woman received two tickets within a couple blocks. One was a speed on green, the other was a photo-radar.

global news said they handed out a ton of tickets after they put the speed on green live

i talked with a buddy at work who said one camera downtown he works by flashes like every 3 seconds

The one near that parkade that everyone takes car photos at, goes off all the time. Even with no-one in the intersection.

flashing is one thing.....getting tickets is another. like i said, i have yet to hear of anyone getting one.

If he means the one on Macleod Trail and 7th Avenue that one flashes for what would seem like no reason. When all the traffic is completely stopped the camera will flash. Quite amusing really.

I see the 1st Street SE (Macleod) and 17th Ave one going off a lot when people are going in the crossing direction all the time. I have felt I have been a little close on speed and running the Macleod and 25th Ave one a couple times lately but did not notice a flash so hopefully nothing will come of it.

Actually there is an iPhone app which has each one already mapped out and if active will emit a bit of a tone when you're approaching one. As well as photo radar traps, or even if a cop is hanging out waiting to catch someone. Granted it's all user based submittals.
