  • skinnier home receiver?

anyone know any decent home receivers 16" or less in width?

we just bought a new tv stand from urban barn and i had the bimbo broad measure the openings to ensure my reciever will fit and is a freaking 1/4" too small! i'm not sending the unit back so i was just going to replace my amp with a newer one with hdmi in/outs but need to find one 16" or less to fit into the damn openings..

or buy the new samsung bluray/amp that mounts to your wall.........

Is the new amp gonna power a home theatre or just a few speakers for surround?

        no no alex..

like the rectangle in the display can't fit the amp inside that part

i'd have to break the wood.. the unit is solid wood so kind of hard to do anything to it without destroying it..

of course my bell hdtv box is 16" wide and slides in like a glove.. fark

            ryan,
            soooo many bad ideas here.

you dont want to shove a reciever into a home theatre. the heat those things give off they NEED space. I see too many idiots throw receivers and shaw PVR/HD boxes into small entertainment centres and then they wonder why they stop working after a while, or worst case scenario the house burns down (my boss 2 weeks ago no joke).

get a case that gives enough room on each side, especially where the power supply is, and ensure they get enough ventilation. the last thing you want is a dead unit, or a house in ashes.

first thing shaw will ask when your unit stops working is how you had it stored. they continually are seeing people put them in tight spaces, and it kills them. those suckers run hot. i know you're with bell but they are basically the same in terms of how much heat they give off.

Most receiver are now the same width but vary in depth.

                Re: skinnier home receiver?

                yea..

the problem is the receiver will actually fit inside the damn unit with space around it

its getting it into it at the start

as there is a small lip on each side :/

alex's router idea may work but i don't know if the wood is fully stained underneath and could end up looking like poo

Could you take the back off, and push it in from behind to get it up to the lip?
