i can appreciate claiming the real estate. That only makes sense. But wouldn't think it needed all the asphalt until they were ready to use it. Looking down on it from beddington, it looks like an easy extra lane paved on either side of the white lines. Maybe it's just that portion?

Either way, I still think an HOV lane would have been a good idea.... Get those buses and carpoolers moving! Its disappointing when such a massive project ends up having sections with only 2 lanes.

Glad to see some of this open but the whole thing bothers me that they go and build this part and have not even got the deals and land to do most of the south portion. This cities planning is so awesome it hurts some times!

I saw it last night. While it is wide, i dont know if it is in fact wide enough for a car and still to have enough shoulder room.
My biggest pet peeve of Highways in Western Canada is the lack of a shoulder. Even if its not a FULL lane wide, still giving enough space for a vehicle to pull all the way over and not interfere is key.

I do agree an HOV lane would make sense, but then i dont ever use it in high traffic.

Who would have thought 4 years of negotiation with the first nations in the SW would fall through? Well other then me that is.

funny on the news tonight they were interviewing bronco and he said they've had enough and are going to probably make 37th street into stoney and block off the entrance into the casino! F'EM finally he's doing something right.. thats of course if it goes through

but they should screw them over and block it off.. the city let them put the casino there in agreement they would let stoney pass through!
