I saw a 2 second clip of this on TV yesterday while eating out and I freaked a bit. I was super annnoyed they just seemed to show the crash for the "fun factor" without actually telling you anything about it.
These actions are about sending a message more than anything so they are not concerned on gaining value or turning it into something positive. The vehicles are supposed to have been smuggled in and this is to help curb corruption, still sucks to see the waste but punishment is the only goal here.
oh, I know. So wasteful....
Might have to get them out of the country so they don't get recognized by the wrong people (presumably there are some heavy crimes involved), but geeze, even selling them for parts world bring in a ton!
How many of them were stolen, then brought over there?
I actually hate seeing stuff like this. Why not sell them and use the money to fund a children's help fund or something?...

I started watching this video and I must admit... it made me want to sell everything here in Calgary and move to a little farm outside the Nurburgring and hoon that track several times a week. However, there is also something about this video that just drives me crazy. Since it's the weekend, let's play a game. What do you think annoys the {bleep} out of me!? HINT: Arrrrgh... marketing!
