any else catch this?
"Under a plan announced this week, the [Obama] administration intends to impose rules mandating that U.S. car makers raise overall fuel economy to 35.5 miles per gallon by 2016, up from about 25 mpg." "The new rules would require passenger cars sold in the U.S. to get, on average, 39 miles per gallon by 2016. Light trucks would have to average 30 mpg. That's a dramatic rise from current averages -- 27.5 mpg for cars, 23 mpg for trucks -- and would bring the overall average of vehicles to 35.5 mpg by 2016 -- four years earlier than current federal law requires."
looks like we'll all be driving 1.4L twin turbos soon!
cant help thinking its gonna put even more pressure on the domestic automakers. No more fancy SUV's running around ! 6 years is very soon and is typically a VW model life??
