I'm not usually one to ask for opinions, but I'm having trouble with an interior modification I'm thinking about doing to the coupe. I've decided to replace any pieces of the interior currently showing wear, and have already replaced the shift and ebrake boots, centre console arm rest, shift knob (now polished), etc.
The final major piece needing replacement is the centre console. I replaced most other parts with standard OEM parts, but i'm wondering if perhaps I should try something different with the console. My choices right now are:
- Simply swap for new OEM console pieces (~$400).
- Recover the centre console with tan/beige alcantara.
The final two choices are more extreme - and I'm thinking they probably don't match with the more retro aesthetic of the Coupe's interior styling. I also don't like an "overly" modified look:
- Paint the console to match the exterior (cosmos black).
- Recover the console in the CF cloth that is in the new 135ti.
I've attached two pics, the first is of my interior to get an idea of color scheme. The second is of another MCoupe to show exactly what console pieces i'm referring to:
