so i know there isn't really any good karts in calgary, the last was up on 16th ave which were decent. my buddy calls me up says his friend knows the owner of overdrivekarts.com and they have a day where the public can race them. it's 20 bucks for 5-6 laps. now i've been on karts quite a few times and didn't have high expectations about them letting us drive the fast karts, but they did. all i can say is wow. it is so much fun 110km/hr down the straight, great steering and brakes.

just thought i'd let you guys know there is gokarts in calgary, apparently they can set up something if you get a group together. i'm going to find out the rates this week.

I'd be down - never driven the fast carts and the indoor ones were/are all lawnmowers that you just pin the whole time.

All I can say is that the ones I drove when I went to Holland...were handsdown retard fast. 0-100km in 6 second, and they ran on propane....it was crazy.

Its not there anymore, but the gokarts at the airport used to go pretty fast. They had 2 tracks. Regular lawn mowers ones and the super fast neck brace and full jumpsuit sign a waiver ones.

But thats a parking lot now.

i have a feeling it's going to be pretty expensive. the karts are about 5k a piece, a set of tires is $250,and then you need a few of there guys to come down and run the show. it would be so much fun, i started to think about buying one as a hobby.

driving this kart is a totally different then the regular karts, i was actually scared when i first got in. then the need for speed took over, i got passed by one guy who owns his own kart. passed me like i was standing still. i'll keep this thread up to date with a price on setting up a time

just so you know the track is at race city, very south end. i'd say it's about 1/2 km in length. that estimate could be way off but that's what it felt like

                    Re: gokarts

I've been dying to go karting again for years, ever since Ricky Bob's closed a few years back. There was some family fun centre I won a pass for that's south of the city, they had complete sh!t karts. I miss the Kart Gardens the most, they closed just before I got my licence and would have been able to go on the 60KM/h karts. I'd be down!
