Jr. Engineering Position

Bit of a long shot but I know some of you guys work for companies that hire engineers. I will be graduating in about 3 weeks from Engineering at the U of C and have had a crazy hard time finding a job. If anyone is looking for Jr. Engineers or knows of anyone look please drop me a line.

Not that I can help, but..... you might want to mention what type of engineering.... It is kind of important.

I seriously doubt you will find a job in Calgary. There are hiring freezes and impending layoffs everywhere.

True enough...If it helps though I know Shell still isnt freezing their hiring..its scaled back but not impossible. Also, be prepared to take about 60% of what they woulda offered you this time last year

I am a Computer/Electrical Engineer.

I just bought a house in Calgary so I would rather stay here.

dude its rough, we aren't on a hiring freeze but there is a head count freeze (same as shell) so it ultimately ends up being the same thing. we do keep our new grad program going though to avoid a demographics gap but even that is tough to get into now.

PM me your email. I work for an engineering firm that had 12% growth last year, and is expecting another 15% or so this year. anyone who knows the engineering industry in calgary well, probably already knows the company i am talking about. we are the only company to have not laid off any one yet (except maybe some high priced contractors), in fact we are on a steady hiring binge right now, about 10 people per week for the next couple months.
might want to be more specific on what type of position you are looking for.
