  • Who really knows car audio?

    Hey everyone,

I'm thinking about picking up a set of speakers on-sale:

    CDT-Audio 3Way-Component-Speakers

Looking for some advice about amping them.

Not sure if its possible to use a 4-way amp and separately power the 6.5" midbass on two channels and then the 4" and tweeter on the other? Or should I be looking for a 2-channel? What sort of power will I need to be safe? I have read that the midbass on this system needs a lot of power or will sound weak.

I'd say power the speakers with a single 4 channel amp.

    Something like

    -or-

Should do the trick, you can go bigger and get more power. But you want to make sure the amp can power four channels with at least 150 watts RMS per channel @ 4Ω stable.

If you wanted to add anything else on get another amplifier for those components.
