Is anybody into Kayaks? I have been thinking about getting a boat but really don't know much about them....

We've got some open water kayaks - eg lake or ocean type, not river. If you're looking for info on river kayaks you should take the intro course at the U of C outdoor rec centre, they give you a tonne of info. We got our at Coast Mountain sports, waaay less expensive then MEC or likewise... -

My wife and I took a sea kayaking course, and spent a day in Desolation Sound in BC. It was pretty awesome. Never tried river kayaking though.
We just rented. Tried both a plastic one and a fiberglass one. Fiberglass was a lot nicer for the big kayaks.Last edited by stefan; 03-15-2009, 04:04 PM.Stefan
