Ice scraper scratched the hell out of my rear window. Any ideas?

    Ice scraper scratched the hell out of my rear window. Any ideas?

    I washed my car and yesterday discovered that I have tons of scratches on my rear window from using an ice scraper while visiting my folks in -35 degree Edmonton. They're not deep but they look like hell. Needless to say I'm right pissed. Is there a way of polishing them out? Any advice? Help a brother out.

    damn do you have the 99cent ice scraper thats straight wood? or volvos have some soft ass glass..

      It was plastic. It's actually the first time I've had to use an ice scraper on the car. I'm so pissed.

        I think a good detailer can polish glass.

          glass polishing is possible, but I hear it can leave a bit of a warping effect when you look through.

            Gah! I have spoken to my dealership and Speedy Glass and they both say they won't touch it. What a load of crap. I can't believe Volvo makes such worthless windows.

              did volvo say why or how it could have happened? i'd call volvo warranty canada and complain man

              in theory -35 means the glass should be harder and not scratch.. well in my mind anyways

                  In 25 years of scraping windows, I've never seem one scratched by an ice scraper.

                    I had this happen on my VW front window, after a few months the scratches seemed to fade and you can no longer see them.

                          The dirt on the window can get stuck in the plastic of the scraper and scratch the glass, then it just keeps happening as long as you use that scraper.
