My Sister has 2004 Freelander. She has had a number of problems with it. The service at the dealership is absolute BS.. I went with her once becuase they were giving her really hard time.. and well I just got treated like crap too.

I would never buy a LR and I am really pushing for my sister to sell hers before it costs her big $$$$

My uncle had a 99 new and he had a couple of small issues right after he bought it.
But he just sold it a year ago he never had any issues with it and he did all the regular maintenance. My friends older brother had a 1997 a few years back and the thing was a tank it went anywhere and never gave him any problems (until he rolled in 4x4ing)

I have heard some horror stories about them but is the same with any manufacturer I mean I dropped over 2500 in a year and a half on my jetta and I still have the check engine light on! Don't get me wrong I love my Jetta.
Either way it a good deal and they are giving me a very fair price for my car.

Just to let everybody know
I am not getting The ROVER anymore did some more looking around
and it's not what I need and we test drove one and the sunroof was opening by it self and the doors were locking and unlocking by them self!!!! WTF
