Now some will try and justify and say they can do their business on their iphone. That may be the case, but that same business can be done 10x faster on a blackberry with amazing ease.
You can watch movies on a blackberry as well as listen to music and take pictures...but doing it on an iphone is easier.

Point is, it all depends what you want out of the phone.

I used both...and found because I use it so much for work, the iphone is useless. I can put music on my blackberry if I wanted to, but I kill my battery enough in a day I don't need another thing doing it. I also find the iphone slightly larger than i would like for a "personal" phone. Do you NEED a full size screen for everything you are doing? I didn't. BB won for me. For those who are tech junkies and highschool kids who want to watch movies in class...the iphone is the winner

            Re: Iphone Rant

the only viable point I've read in this thread is the security thing for bigger biz.

...But with exchange servers gettin more geared to mobile comm, its only a matter of time until BES security/functionality is built into the mail server, and ive been using an iPhone for a year, and have a blackberry for work (granted, a crap 8703, but ive had a pearl and a 8800 in the last couple years as well)..I have my iPhone working off my companies mail server and its just as good for business once you actually get used to it (after firmware 2.0, anyways).

I've got my share of beefs with the iPhone, and will likely be switching to a Bold or Thunder just because the iPhone is EVERYWHERE now, and you cant change the goddamn text message sound on my firmware so EVERY iphone sounds the same for that which is driving me up the wall lately, but IMO, the only real argument is security at this point

agreed james it'll be very curious to see how the next gen BB's do

BBY's were amazing for business over the last few years but with the 2.0 iphones you get alot of stuff with them..

dumb question but does the iphone handle word, excel, etc attachments?

                  Re: Iphone Rant

I have an HTC Touch Diamond, and it is a fantastic phone. I've been using it for just shy of a month ( I was one of the first people in Calgary to get one) and it does some incredible things. While it doesn't address all of the issues the iphone has, the EV-DO rev A (wireless internet for you non-technogeeks) is blazing fast and will load a full webpage for browsing fairly rapidly. The design is smaller than the iPhone and IMO easier to handle with the reduced bulk.

It is capable of Bluetooth file transfer, has WiFi, will sync with all of your outlook tasks, emails, notes, contacts and even web favourites if you want it to. Really handy for those who are on Telus/Bell as you don't need to spend hours re-entering your contacts in, just sync it and you're laughing.

The windows mobile 6.1 is certainly not a perfect OS, but with the addition of the HTC TouchFlo 3D interface, you almost don't feel like you're using windows at all, it's clean and simple and can be nav'd with ease.

It also has a pretty impressive 3.2mp camera ( sans flash unfortunately, but these days they seem to be little more than a blindingly bright LED). Some examples of it can be seen here (http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/HTC-..._1956-p_5.html as well as a full review of the phone for those who don't like my rant, listen to the professionals)

All in all i would say it is a comfortable, more open version/copy-cat to the iPhone, and for those who dislike apple products it might be right up your alley

Depends on what you mean by handle. You cannot edit but according to the apple website: "iPhone supports rich HTML email, so images and photos appear alongside text. And you see email attachments in their original format, not as stripped-down versions. Rotate, zoom, and pan in more than a dozen standard file and image formats, including PDF, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and also view iWork attachments."
