  • Home Made Tandem Bike

Not the typical build thread, but still a project in the end. I did some looking into Tandem bikes, they are expensive and hard to find. I was not interested in investing the money if it's no fun for me or the other half. I did some looking on the internet found some how-to's. Manufacturers show the frame geometry for their bikes, I did some measuring and came up with the frame size that would work for me and my girlfriend. I acquired some old donor bikes and started cutting.

    The Donor Bikes

    Layout for fitment of tubes

    Fitting of tubes

    Tubes fitted and taped in

    Tubes all welded in place

    Frame blasted

    Powder Coated

    Complete

Total investment was just under $100 and took about 15 hours.
    $40 for new cables
    $40 for the Tubing
$12 for the pair of seats
