  • Leather Repair?

Just wondering if anybody knows any "tricks" for fixing fairly deep scratches in leather? I'm not expecting the scratches to disappear all together, but I would like them to atleast regain their original color...if that makes sense.

The scratches are currently deep enough that they are almost a white'ish color, and the leather is black. Should I just use a leather dye, or is there a product out there that "fills" scratched leather.

    TIA

There is a product called Leatheriqe (sp?) that is supposed to be very good. It's a full repair and recondition system.

I think you could use a shoe polish type product. Thats what shoe polish does, really. Fills in scratches and cuts and scuffs in leather shoes and dyes the exposed leather the approximate color of the shoe to hide the scratch.

Not sure what product would be best.

Try a leather store, like for leather jackets. I know they sell a lot of products for repair and fixing leather jackets, and the black leather of a jacket is pretty similar to the black leather of a seat. Eg. Danier Leather.

I don't think a shoe polish or a leather jack repair kit would be a good idea if you like your pants clean. I am sure you can find some kits online pretty easy as I have seen some in the past.

I agree about the shoe polish but I bet the jacket stuff doesn't rub off even with water. Its a jacket after all.
