  • RBC insurance?

I've been with ING for a while now and no real complaints. I'm tempted to switch to RBC as I can save a good amount, especially on my car insurance. Can anyone comment on how they were to deal with when making a claim? ING was very much a 'no problem we'll get that fixed right away' kind of company and I don't want to give that up if it's going to be a huge pain when I need to make another claim.

Thanks for any input you have.

ING is more than RBC? Seems odd.

And not just a little bit more either. ING is charging us nearly $3k per year for both our cars and with RBC $1443 for what as far as I can tell is identical coverage. I wish I would have shopped around every 2nd year because they were the best quote when I first got my car in '03.

Surprised no one mentions TD Meloche Monnex....
If you're a uni graduate or member of a professional association *other* than being a teacher, they have some sick discounts.

My fiancee is a nurse, and with the CARNA discount, our house + auto insurance is 135.00/mth, full coverage

Meloche is great unless you get in an accident, then they treat you like utter $hit. My first major accident was a $hit show, I am sure I got a couple people there fired due to the way I was treated. One guy even had the balls to tell me "well that is just too bad" when I told him how much cash I was out due to the accident.

When I was shopping our insurance we looked at TDMM with my wife being a teacher and me being a 2x university grad they could not touch RBC's rates. Not to mention I had to call them 2 or 3 time to try and even get a quote.

I have been told many horror stories from TD Meloche Monnex. They are also the only company I have had call me and give me a quote, and it was higher than I was currently paying.

that is weird that you say ING has been good for claims.
i had one claim experience with them and it was horrendous.
you would probably get mixed opinions on RBC as well. it probably all depends on the rep you talk to that day, or the rep manager on duty that day.

All insurance companies are all smiles when they take your money then they show their true colors when you have a claim.

                            HAHAHA too true.
Depending on who you talk to, every insurance company is better/worse/cheaper/more expensive than the next. I've never had a problem getting a quote or working through a claim with TDMM. Lombard Canada is a different matter....

Then again, my friend's roommate had a hell of a time with ING in the past, got screwed by TDMM and is getting shafted by whatever company he's currently with....
