  • Vacation troubles.. again

I think this is the fourth year in a row now that I've had car issues on my holiday.. not so bad this time.
Hit a rock, bent up my aluminum skid plate, but no oil lost this time! Pulled in to kelowna with a flat though.. boo.

year 1 was a CV, year 2 was realr control arm bushings that were chewed right out and the joint was clunking, and car was handling poorly, year 3 was a fractured turbo oil supply line.... ah well.

Well that sucks Stefan. Maybe you've aquired that airplane gremlin from the twilight zone.

Sounds like the skid plate did its job though.

looks like the skid plate did its job! It was just before Golden coming from Lake Louise. Saw the rock coming, but had either ditch, oncoming traffic, or test the skid plate to choose from.

See I keep telling people they are a sound investment. I tested mine out shortly after I got it too.

the full metal one or just the aluminum one that bolts to the plastic skirts?

I bolts fully to the sub frame and to front supports that come with the kit.

                            bring this back...
Oil pan started leaking this week. Pulled off skid plate @ Georges and it looks like this rock from summer did some damage after all. There is a hairline fracture in my oil pan... :(
