  • Question for the media center gurus

Ok so I recently had to update my hardware in my media center PC and as a result had to do a full re-install of windows. I had a bunch of issues getting everything working again but was able to get everything going EXCEPT my IR Transceiver. The remote will work with it but the IR Blaster is intermittent.

It will usually only work if I disconnect it and re-connect it but it only works maybe twice. Sometimes it will work a few times but only flash 2 of the 3 numbers to change the channel. It always stops working after a few tries, just won't transmit for anything until I unplug and plug it back in.

Anyone have any ideas? I've tried uninstalling the device and letting Windows re-install it and several other fixes I've found on the interwebz but nothing seems to work.

It's a legit version of MCE2002 with all the rollups and hotfixes installed from windowsupdate so should basically be mce2005. I had sp3 installed but brought it back down to sp2 in hopes of getting it working.

Any help would be appreciated as I'm at my wits end with it.

Yea, I have a 360, and I've used tversity a little bit but it's on a different tv. Our main tv viewing tv is on the main floor and I use the media center much like a pvr as well as dvd player.

Actually the 360 does a pretty good job of streaming off the media center too(when it's working) and allows me to record tv onto the m/c and then watch it on my 360 later.
