So does this mean no more RIV list or atleast no more bumper regs that need to be met? I hope I can bring in a b5 RS4 from overseas and not have it cost me ~100k. Is this effective immediately?

Re: Government of Canada Harmonizes bumper standard

They have not changed the RIV list so nothing has changed yet. But i am assuming that the car manufacturers will just make up a different excuse why cars can not enter the country. Since the Gov't still asks the car manufac's what to do I don't see this changing much.

More importantly, does this mean no more tumors on Audis?

R32 still won't be allowed. It wasn't the bumpers keeping it out so changing the bumper regs does nothing for it's admissability.

What was it then? I have always been told that it was the bumpers and that's it.

That was my understanding too.....because its just a golf with euro bumpers....what else could possibly be found to be inadequate?

It was something to do with it not being crash tested to certain specifications or somethnig like that IIRC. Turbomeyers on here gave me the run down as to why they're not allowed in Canada when I saw him at Waterwagens. Hopefully he'll chime in.
