  • Anybody planning on ordering tires?

I have always gone to Bob in the past, but in my searches for summer tires for the allroad I have found the US to be far cheaper (read 255-40-19 size needed). So, Tirerack has a good deal on right now and I just wanted to see if anyone else was ordering and we could split the shipping/duty...long shot I know, but worth a try

actually I am, but first i'll need to look how much the ones I want are on there. I really only need 2 though.

Edit, just looked, they don't have the brand or the size/performance I need (can't believe they don't sell toyo's).

HOLY SH!T!! Thanks Rob! The tires I was looking at on Tirerack are ~$50 more per tire...not including duty and shipping!

They have some good prices but shipping is pretty high, was $54 a tire for the ones I was looking at.

And wished you could search easier for staggered sizes

Re: Anybody planning on ordering tires?

Okay, so shipping is rediculous ($240 for 4 tires) BUT it still comes out ~$100 cheaper than tirerack after all is said and done.

Next question, which is a better tire:

Hankook Ventus Sport K104 - Reg $360 on for $135 (amazing discount)

                OR

Kumho Ecsta SPT KU31 - Reg $227 on for $158

I have Kumho's on my S4, and I like them, but would like some input on the Hankook's since they're such a good deal.

Re: Anybody planning on ordering tires?

God Damn. Just ordered tires yesterday for my S4 from TR..
TireRack was WAY cheaper then anywhere else though...

For my Continental SportContact 3's.. my total bill with shipping/tax/brokerage/duties came to $950 usd...(178 each!) on the above site its $1120 for tires and shipping.. (needs tax, tire levy still)

Re: Anybody planning on ordering tires?

The Hankooks would be $845 all-in shipped at Tire-Easy.ca (can't compare to TR as they don't have them listed)

The Kumhos would be $946 at both places.

I'm more interested in the Hankooks because of the savings, but I do like the Kumhos on my S4....hmmmmmm

EDIT: I found the Hankooks at TR...$1202.92, so ~$355 cheaper at Tire-Easy.ca.

Re: Anybody planning on ordering tires?

Interesting how some are cheaper at either place... so other tires I looked at extensively are the Goodyear F1 GS-D3's which came highly rated..

how can you split shipping on tires? they charge $x amount per tire...

also, some tires are made in the USA. don't be stupid people and pay duties on those!
