  • Looking for Edmonton IT contacts/recruiters

I am planning on moving to Edmonton as soon as I find a job. I know a few of the members are from Edmonton so I was just wondering if anyone had any IT contacts. I graduated from SAIT with an Electrical Eng. diploma as well as a Computer Eng. diploma (about five years ago). I have worked as a SCADA developer, QA and Customer Support. Thanks for any help.

I don't think I know anyone there, but you might want to send a resume to Matrikon. Sounds like they would be right up your alley. They've become a pretty big shop here in town.

Thanks for the info. I actually just got an offer from them. I was just wondering if there were other places I should try to look at. I'll look up you Edmonton boys when I move as I don't know too many people in the chuck.

The only other company I can think of off hand in that field is (was) Taylor Industries, but they got bought out by some American company a few years ago and I'm not sure what they are called anymore, or if they are still in operation for that matter.

You might want to try some of the oil/gas companies. I think a lot of them have their own in house people doing that sort of work. I met a guy at Enbridge who was doing something along those lines (controllers, etc).

Heck I am still looking for jobs in that field in this town let alone edmonton. Ever since I lost my last job from a site closure the market has looked small, good thing I am doing some contracting on the side.

Well I am looking for not so much IT even though I can do IT jobs. I have a degree as an electronic technologist so I am looking for something in that field. In the mean time I am doing a little contracting even though I would like some more contracts to pay the bills.
