Well the numbers that are given out on paper for the Corvette make it compete with the GT2, yet it obviously doesn't. Regardless of price, numbers should be numbers. Hey, I can offer you a car for half as much as the Corvette if you want me to lie about what the 0-60 time is.

As soon as they start bitching about the "leaf springs" they lose all credibility for me.
Costwise you're with a 911S that's it. On paper-racing the GT3 is realy the closer model.
Ring times:
GT2: 7:44
Z06 (2004): 7:56
Might as well run the GT2 vs the Veyron for the same similar contest. Or the Z06 vs the base boxter.
Well the point is, a lot of Boxster owners don't go around saying their cars compete with Z06's. But sadly, a lot of Vette owners seem to think they have a supercar killer. I don't think that there is any question about money, its about testing the claim that the Z06 can stand up to more expensive cars, and showing that it is false.
No, it shows that 1 group of euro journalists either sandbagged on purpose, or just got a dog car. I didn't even see the vette break the tires loose.
I don't think anyone, not even a Z06 fanboy would expect it to beat a GT2 (more than double the price). But a 911 turbo? A 360 Modena? The Z06 constantly trounces many cars that are far more expensive if not double on both the drag and the track.
Road and Track didn't seem to have a problem getting a 0-100 of under TEN seconds (unlike Autocar)
Road and Track often seems to get faster times than anyone else IMO
The Autocar journalists gave it a fair shot from what I saw in the video. I think that their jabs at things like the leaf springs were meant in jest and lightheartedly, just teasing. I think you took them too seriously and obviously got defensive right away. Maybe you are taking it too personally.
