No offense to Subaru drivers but damn the interior on the STI has gotten even worse. At the auto show I was shocked getting into the base Impreza how bad it was, and then the STI basically just had slightly better seats (nowhere near as good as the EVO) and most of the same very poor interior.

Yeah the evo and the GTI both felt a little cheap thats for sure. But i did prefure the STI to the EVO. Evo may be faster but i think the STI looks better, and the interior was more comfortable. Not to mention it had a proper stick shift. But i think both have gone down hill. They are making cars to big these days.

LOL i got this vid from beyond and already fan boys are postin saying the GTI won only because the suby has bad tires and that she did a e brake slide at the start so slowed her down lol

The WRX does come with very bad tires. I owned both cars and in my opinion given equal tires it would be a lot closer. I'd still give the slight edge to the GTi because the WRX needs better suspension too haha.

At the car show I was very disapointed with the interior in the new GTI it didnt look good. But i have to say it did have the best seats off all that I sat in there. I think the two cars that i decded that i would like frmo the show was first off the RS5 and then the STI. the subaru looked and felt good.

Really? I thought the gti had the nicest interior in its class. Better than some more expensive cars imo.

Looked like theyd dropped back from some of the softer leatherish fittings of the MK4 to just all hard embossed leather look stuff. not very touchy feely and cosy. if that makes any sense. also didint really like the centre console.

Loved the seats though

noticed on the vid they were testing the older WRX as well, the new one runs 300hp and 290lb no? or is this jsut a function of the new measuring standard warping numbers?

That was an 08 WRX, they have 224hp, STis have 305hp

Different turbo or what?
Id prefer an EVO ot of either of them. Dont really care for the new look of the GTI's and the Subaru's seem to made made cheap (interior wise anyways). I love the looks of the EVO and the paddle shifters

The 300hp is the STI not the WRX correct?

Oh, thought the WRX was just the model and the STI was a level in that model range, guess the impreza is the model and they are both levels of car then. Is it not a WRX STI. anyway dont matter

$47K for a well equipped STI puts it up there a bit though. guess ill jsut keep saving right up to the S5 then
