I have found some used Lorinser Speedy's too but he is wanting 4,000 for them and only 7" wide in the back and no lip, the Works are 8"

They are growing on me... look good on the all-black car and the roadster... but even though the look is good, its still sort of a different kind of direction than I would take a Smart. Could be nice though and like you said, unique. Really with a Smart you don't have too much to work with (no offense) so I would say push in every direction - biggest possible lip, eye catching wheels, big fenders, etc.

You could do something crazy to match the high polish on the wheels... like get chrome old school mirrors or something like that.

I am not sure if there is a true kit, but some of them have whole new frames and everything, probably more than the cost of the car. There are some bigger turbos kits for the gas car but not much for the CDI.

Not sure how much more will be done to the Smart as 2009 could be time for a new car.

Bumping this back up, doing one more order for parts and I am just curious on chrome mirror caps. I know Kor posted about going old school but what about just going with caps, like dislike??
