i figured i would kill 2 birds with one stone and make it all into one forum...

how much are you people with wheel spacers paying, i just googled it and found H&R for about 50 bucks a set, but all the other ones were closer to 100....

also a on going argument between me and friends, when cruising down the highway or long stretch of road, is it bad for the car to throw it in neutral when ur doing say 80 km/h and just use your brakes, or should you downshift/brake to right before first then drop her in N orrr does it not make a difference

Automatic not good, forget why. Manual I think it's ok to put the clutch in and coast to a stop, but not the gearbox in N with clutch out. Not positive on this one.

It's also technically illegal to coast on highways in many places. Falls under the "not being in control of the vehicle" category.

Its fine to put your car in neutral and let the clutch out and brake.

coating in neutral is illegal on roads. In both BC and AB...so i would assume the other provinces as well.

its also quite hard on the brakes, because you dont have the engine assisting in the braking process. Now we can debate the whole wearing out your tranny for downshifting and all that, but as many with 300,000km cars can attest their trannies are still kicking fine.
