  • GPS question

So I went out and bought a pioneer dvic-d3 today. My question is whether the GPS module thing from my OEM Nav unit would be compatible with my new unit? That way I wouldn't have to remove the old one and put in the new one.

    Thanks in advance!

I doubt it would be compatible.
If you need a hand installing it give me a call, i did my D3 a few months ago.

the gps antennas are on the most part the same between car manufacturers. so it might work with aftermarket. its a gold little pin:

              Re: GPS question

It would be somewhat easy to make an adapter but you would have to look at the voltage output of the stock deck and the pioneer deck. Most modules run on 5V but some tend to run on 3.3V. It is easy to check, just measure the center pin to the outside shield.

Has anybody who installed the D3 also installed the Bluetooth module? I'm seriously looking at this, but don't want to spend the $$$ unless I know that it will work with my phone. Telus does a lot of boneheaded stuff to "disable" phone features.
