My brother took Carpentry at SAIT. If you have any questions about it feel free ask me and I will ask him. He makes pretty decent money right now $24/hr working on a high rise downtown getting his needed hours that they require you to have for "experience". Not a bad profession at all. Myself, I am at UofC pursuing dreams of being an Architect. Too bad you missed the SAIT open house last weekend, lots of good information to be had there.

If you read the business section of the paper they constantly have right ups about the lack of IT professionals and the demand for them.

If that is what you are interested in (computers) I would be talking to some of the guys on here that are very accomplished and see what they are doing in further detail!

I think you should first write down all the areas that you are most skilled/talented in then rate them by how good you are and how much you could stand doing them day after day. look from this into how realistic it is you could get a position in it and what the competition is like then go look at a few courses.

yovue already been on teh front line for the dealers, dealing with people all the time, have you considered going into sales. there is a lot of money to be made in sales in alberta right now.

I used to be a programmer and really enjoyed it, its one of the few things that i could lose 8 hours into without even realising id missed lunch, but i got RSI and had to get out. some friends who didnt are now almost crippled. i still think everynow and again i should get back into it.

IT can become extremely repetitive after the first year but then i find it hard to believe most jobs dont. I think jobs requiring some form of physical input and giving some degree of visual or physical result could be most satisfying but that maybe varies with person,

Just the musings of someone whos also thought about these things but is in too deep to be able to do anyting about it.

            K..
