Have kids they are a great arm workout. Also as they get older, they get heavier, so it is more of a work out.

Re: Supplements? Any sports gurus here?

I found the NAVY SEAL workout by doing a google search for it. I have also looked at the Ranger one.

I should also tell you that I had a foul mouth at the time so I used that as a tool to do more. Every F word I said was 15 pushups extra. I did lots of them let me tell you. After about 2 weeks the mouth was starting to get better so I bumped it up to 25 for every time I used it. That lasted about a month then I bumped it up to 50. I think I only did 2-3 50 push up sets. I figure if Pavlov can train a dog to salivate by turning on a light I could train myself to stop swearing. Plus the embarrasment of doing pushups in the ER with co workers watching helped as well.

Re: Supplements? Any sports gurus here?

Kinda off topic, but i not much of a morning person and I never eat anything for breakfast. My first meal of the day usually ends up being lunch.....i know, i know.....its bad.

So, what do you guys recommend for someone who isnt a morning person and has little time in the morning to sit and eat?

Would a meal supplement such as Boost help? Or is that bad aswell?

I'm the same way. I've been doing this.
                    - 1 scoop of Weider 90% protein powder
                    - 8-10 oz of 1% milk
                    - 1 banana
                    - 1 apple cut up into smaller slices.
Blend til smooth and drink. Easy and fast pick up before the gym or Deerfoot grind.

I'm in the same boat... I hate getting up in the morning, and usually rush out the door. I find the following work really well for breakfast.

                      - Throw some whole grain in a bowl of yogurt.
                      - Healthy cereal with a generous amount of milk.
                      - Protein shake with a piece of toast.

Just make sure you eat something... eating nothing is really bad for you.
Sidewalks are for normal walkin.... aint no room for fancy walkin....

when i was in the hospital and could'nt eat solids they gave me a product named Ensure it's loaded with protein and carbs.
but the taste omg takes a while to get used to.

I agree with above. I am not a morning person and usually dont even get hungry till about 2 hours after I get up. Here is what I did and I think it helped.

On my drive to work I ate half a protein bar (Others seem to like the drinks but I would hate to spill that stuff in my car). That left me with half a protein bar for later in the day when I got hungry and wanted to snack on sweets. I bought mine at costco.

Ensure is good but does take a long time to get used to. Its pricey but you can find it onsale(I used to wait till London Drugs had it onsale. Usually half price). Also, now there are so many brands of that stuff you should be able to find a flavour you like.

So Ensure and Boost are good options for something to grab and go?

Ensure/Boost and all other brands...generic or labelled are purely MEAL REPLACEMENTS. Good idea if you are skipping a meal.

if yo slowly start eating in the morning you can work yourself into something. start with a little bit of fruit salad. it makes a difference
