I need to vent.....My truck was dropped off in Montreal on the 24th (last wednesday), I was told 8-12 days I would receive it.....I phone Sea Rail today to see how its going, you know 8 days has passed, and they tell me the train left Montreal YESTERDAY!?!?! WTF........ And then she politely told me 8-14 days.....What ********....Man am I pissed....I guess schedules are just a "suggestion"....****.

Welcome to the world of transport. I used Hansens to transport mine, and they bragged about their "online tracking system" which should update you where you vehicle is. Mine has never changed. The car was already in Calgary (via way of San Fancisco and Vancouver), and the tracker was advising the car was still in San Francisco - completely useless.

Add that to the fact that it has been in Calgary since the 24th, but I still can't pick it up.

This was the same story with my Cayman, shipping takes forever. Gotta live with it. Took 2 weeks just to get them to load the car and get it on its way.

I used Hansen's too, they let me pick the car up the day after it got to Calgary though.

But still it took a long time and they were awful about keeping their schedules or telling me where the car was.

I asked them about picking up my car, and they mentioned the paperwork is with Canada Customs for remand. Did you have a broker, or did you deal with that yourself once it got here?

Also, does pestering them help?

$779....dealer cost....if I had sourced the shipping it would have been about $1300....And this has never been a child friendly environment, since I got here in 03ish

im getting my soarer shipped out to toronto, where i go to school.
they(searail) told me 7-12 days. It left last monday the 22nd, and the eta is nov.5
we will see how it goes thou..

Well....still no truck....of course it was in Edmonton.....I phoned them and told them this was rediculous. I was told 8-12 from the 24th of october....

And luckily today the "trucks were too full" to make it today......I'm sooooo pissed

so heres my deal with Searail.

I havent had any worries or problems yet. My car is here in Edmonton right now , but i cant pick it up because its in Searails compound and still in bond.
Anywhoo it was picked up three days before searail even thought it would be , which is a bonus. It was picked up in less then 7 days from when i put the order in. When it got here Searail called me up and told me i can get the paper work and that i would be able to pick it up at the airport at customs.

So i go to pick it up on 17st ne. If anyone needs help finding it , you have to go into CN Rail's depot. You will see a lot of cars and then a little shack for searail. So they tell me its gone to the airport and i tell them i actually saw my car in the lot. they look at me like an idiot and say they have alot of black GTIs coming around. I dont make a big fuss but the thing is i cant pick up my car till its out of this lot.

so i go outside look at the car without crossing into the restricted area and two of the girls come out , one closes the gate and one tells us we cant even look at the vehicle because its bonded. Whatever i thought they got rules and im not looking for problems. They werent being mean about it , they were just doing their job. So finally they check it and im right . That is my car but their computer system says its gone already from the lot.

SO i havent gotten my car yet because its not at customs.
The only thing with searail is their communication and too much with the computer being always right. Which in this case it wasnt.

i havent been able to inspect the car yet so i dont know if theres any damage .

I was told yesterday that this AM at 8 I could get it.....Well, cancelled insurance on the VW, all that, had a meeting to go to....sure enough! Not there......A-holes

Anyhow, they phone me later in the day and guess who finally showed up to the ball......My truck....Anyhow, I love it so far, pics will be up when its clean....Otherwise I'm hitting up sea rails claims dept. because I got dicked around way too much
