There are adult skating lessons, I know when I taught Power Skating there were some adult classes. Its done mostly for hockey players, but we had a beginner/intermediate class for adults. I don't have any contact info anymore, but it sounds like a decent fit.

You would fit in the class provided you could skate forwards and backwards, stop start etc. In gear without falling. You also had to be in pretty solid shape since it was a pretty intensive workout as well.

Ya I have gotten doughy over the years (since the kids came) and haven't been getting out like like I used to. Time to change that!
