shell, cuz i work for them kinda sorta and I know they have decent quality control. Also I did stop quite a bit at the extrafoods gas bar cuz its near my house but I'm going to avoid them from now on.

The car is really responsive, ive noticed that when i fill up at other places and then floor it it takes a bit for it to actually get going.

I use 94 octane at husky, but im not sure if ethanol is good for my GTI.

I like shell 94 in vancouver. My car seamed to run smother, maby its in my head

Its all about performance for me.

There is a really good gas test on you tube with the boys from london. I will find it and post it. The results are very shocking

When I was in Vancouver one of the local guys who worked in a chemical lab had his company run a test on gasoline.

They tested for impurities and everything else:

Rankings:
1. Chevron
2. Petro Canada
3. Shell
4. Esso


Husky ranked very low, and Superstore and other like-type stations were among the worst due to them purchasing surplus gas and pooling it. You often do not get straight grade fuel from Superstore/Co-Op/Safeway etc. due to them purchasing excess gas from everyone and then just pooling it together.

Chevron consistently has ranked the best with PetroCan very close second. Both Esso and Shell had a large number of impurities and while ranking 3 & 4 were quite far behind.

These were actual tests, done in a lab. Husky was really bad due to the stuff they put in there, but is good if you need to pass emissions testing. Power wise its horrible.

As for why Husky/Mohawk are low;
while they have ethanol in their gas so it burns cleaner, they also put a lot of sulpher in to offset and this is bad for your cat with prolonged use.
