  • Beware of lying child salesmen

Today I opened the door to an 11 year old arab child with chocolates in his hand. He said "would you like to buy some chocolates." I said "sure, for what charity?" and he goes "umm some school." So I proceed to ask him what school and he goes on to tell me that it is for his school's hiking and camping trips..somewhat flustered I asked again what school and he just looked at the ground. He had a blue tag on his chest that was pinned on backwards, when I turned it around it had some arabic writing and "I am doing this to make money for myself to buy books and clothes" and in bold THIS IS NOT A CHARITY. I looked past the child to notice his father in a fully loaded for windstar minivan, and another arab child walking the beat on the other side of the street, then I proceeded to slam the door in his face.

I guess I am scratching my head wondering if this is at all illegal or unlawful...hell if they can do this can't anyone just walk around selling stuff door to door? This was strange to me.
I own a luxury econobox..is that an oxymoron?

I fell sad for that poor boy. You should need a licence to have kids.

I guess if the tag said outright that the thing wasn't for a charity then it might not be as bad as finding out on the news that it was for some racket for someone else. It sounds like an attempt to make it legit.

Sounds like a good way to make some money for some mods:mrpimp:

It would be fine if it was an adult, or even a teenager I guess - as long as its also openly stated that its not for a charity. I probably wouldn't buy any, but I wouldn't have a huge problem.

However, getting your kids to go door to door selling for you is low.
