I always thought there was huge issues with putting floor drains in garages?

                  Re: pimp garage?

i don't think so .. maybe if the garage wasn't insulated/heated.. i'm guessing it just goes to the sewer to its just a black pipe that exits out the side of the grage into the lawn or something like that

                    Re: pimp garage?

I think it was something about there having to be a sump or something to stop automotive fluids from going into the storm sewer system and/or a trap to stop the gasses from entering the house. In the end it would be sweet.

                    The essentials would be:
                    - Floor Drain
                    - Hot/cold water
                    - 220V Power
                    - Heat
                    - Pre Plummed air Lines
                    - 2 more lights above the 2 that they put in.

Hey Ryan, if you haven't built your garage yet get them to do in floor heating, it may cost a little more but man you will love it. Just get them to run the pipe and leave it unterminated, otherwise they have to install a boiler now which is a waste. The thing to do is use an old hot water tank and a pump and you will have the warmest garage to work in during the winter.

yea tis already done brent.. its just wood/non insulated right now and cement floor.. so this fall i'll be insulating/drywalling it for the winter then going from there.. its hard working on the car right now without having a driveway (sometime this week!!)

220V power is good for welders/some pressue washers or maybe an electric heater. it's cheap to install and nice to have if the situation comes up.

The heated floor is sweet, in the winter the snow melts, but the floor is cold and stays wet, with the heated floor, it evaporates right away.
