  • Where is the best...

Place to buy tires? I'm looking for 165 45 r15? They don't have to be super high quality. I just need something that's black and round.

Try Bob at cms. Good prices, and smiles are free.

Anand at My Tires on 32nd can sometimes beat bob's prices, plus the service is great and he is a great guy (although Bob is too for sure). Can't go wrong either way.

I have always had some good prices from Tire Trends in Van, and they have a few obscure sizes too.

I tried for two weeks to get hold of Bob at CMS over the phone, the tires I wanted were out of stock and noone else would help out. to far north to pop in n see him

            gave up in the end

That would be frustrating for sure, but I have had great service when dealing with Bob. He is a very busy guy.

As Kris mentioned, Anand at mytires is worth a look as well. Doesnt hurt to shop around.

I've ordered from 1010tires and tiretrends both, as well as bought from Bob and Anand. All experiences were good ones. The shipping is surprisingly good for both tiretrends and 1010 - the tires ended up on my doorstep in just a couple days, no fuss no muss.

Basically comes down to what tire you want... who has the best price is likely to change depending on the day of the week and what tire you choose.

i've been dealing with kelly at country tires. excellent service. everyone was busy but at least this place called me back with details of what they can get. his prices are usually a few dollars cheaper than mytires for what i was looking at.

Just make sure he's not making it back with other charges if you are having them mounted and balanced. As far as I recall Anand has mounted and balanced tires for free when I've purchased them in the past. A lot of shops will charge you $20-$30 / tire = $80-$120 on top. Something to think about, versus ordering tires or buying them elsewhere.

Yea, I had a co-worker go to Anand and thought he was a little bit higher than the competition but when I told him he usually quoted "all in" including GST he was quite surprised. Can't speak to his service as of late though.

I've also used Kelly because I used to work about a block from there, he had good prices but he was way too much of a spaz for me. My last experience was when he refused to mount 205's on an 8" rim because he said it was illegal and if any shop mounts them they will be liable. He was still going on about it until I walked out. That was after I had dealt with him about 6 times before that.

I used 1010 before also, wicked service and very fast shipping. The shipping works out to be about the same as the Alberta tire levy so you're not really paying any extra.

yeah when you call either country or mytires get them to quote you the "drive away" price. Most importantly, write this amount down. They write their prices that they quote you on their notebooks, and if they can't find it, they might charge you more. just make sure you confirm the price with them before doing anything.

I have purchased 2 sets of tires from the dealer before. It's just a pain in the ass when you need some custom tires.
