  • SLR Camera Question

Whats a good starter SLR camera for a guy who would like one, but has a lot to learn about photography?

I don't need anything over the top. If i get in to it enough that i feel i'm missing something, i will upgrade at that point.

Any rebel/XT - it's the lenses that cost the money and you have to decide what you want to spend. Or Nikon D50/70 if you want to go that route. Get a used body and see if you like it.

D50/D70s are gonzo....D40x is where its at for starter Nikon line, and its dissapointingly small. D80 is a larger step up and quite a complex camera, but will allow you to grow into it!

            Re: SLR Camera Question

beware if you have big hands, the xti is too small.....better go to the camera store and hold them, because you may not like the size (same with the D40x). That may force you into a D80/20D type range for size

Unless you get the Battery Grip for the XT/i body. It's great for portrait shots!
