rims question???

I'm getting set of rims, for mkIII golf, they are 7.5" wide and the offset is 42.Does anybody know if there is going to be enough clearance between the actual rim and the shock or I'll need spacers?

you might rub in the front. I have 17X7.5 with a 35mm offset and its pretty close to the strut.

what diameter? 15, 16, 17", 18?

i run 8.5" and have no issues with my fronts. my 9's in the rear needed some rolling however.

what kind of wheels are they as well because some fit slightly better than others.

It is the set of Branzach wheels 18x 7.5. I know they will probably rub against the fender, but what I dont want to see is rub against the struts.

You also need to check clearance with the bearing cap/spindle end as well. VW's stick out quite far and many higher offset rims will still fit the car, but once installed the center cap will not fit back on the wheel because it contacts at these points...
