    Re: Watch Aficionados?

On a random note, if you're last name is Bentley that's slightly uncanny since my sisters boyfriend is also named Bentley.

As for watches, I have a few older ones lying around from a year or two ago but phased out of wearing them.

i rock the nixon venture, its very clean and classy and for the equivalent look from brand names its well above $1500 for the same style.

        i love watches

Tissot PR 50 automatic is a great watch for the money (as little as $150-$200).

Automatic movement, Sapphire Crystal, and decent looks.

Not a $ watch but still cool.

Back up again, I am heading to SE Asia in June and hope to return with a new watch and not a cheap street side knock off either. With an abundance of authorized dealers and hopefully lower prices I will see what I can find, a few of my picks.....

Bell & Ross BR 03-94 (The BR 01s are just too big for me at 46mm)

            Chopard Mille Miglia

Panerai Luminor Power Reserve (Love this watch but the price is getting steep, but will check out the Panerai Boutique in HK 1 of 5 shops in the world)

Everyone I see these days has the black strap black face combo. Whats up with that? Fashion I guess?

Pretty sure I'm finally getting the Tag Carrera I've been pining after, probably before the end of March

That Chopard posted above is HOT! With that said, I'm still partial to Concord watches. I don't have one yet... but hopefully my next watch will be a Concord - I'm loving the C1.

Sidewalks are for normal walkin.... aint no room for fancy walkin....

                  Re: Watch Aficionados?

The Chopard's come in lots of colour options, I am just very partial to the classic steel/black combo, plus when you get gold then the price goes up, up up!

My Dad rocks a Concord, close to this but different colour face, a Saratoga I think.

For people interested I know Birks has adjusted it's watch pricing (Concord, Tag's etc) to be the same as the US msrp so buying local is a little better now.

Wow those are some very nice watches indeed. I've been looking into a new watch for a while now and I think I've got it narrowed down to these two beauties. Just not sure which one I want yet.

i got a Tag Heuer for my birthday last spring... ive broke it twice already..
the bezel .. and then at C.o.P i was wearing it.. fell on one of hte tables.. didnt notice.. and it broke off .. anyways long story short.. they called me a month later to say they found it.. WHEW.. lemme tell ya.. i have yet to get it fixed, and I'm not too keen to give it to Kenny again.. (bezel clicker doesn't work right)

so after losing a Seiko Kinetic, that my grandfather gave me.. i wasn't too anxious to tell my father i lost that Tag..

my grandfather was the master watchman at J. Vair Anderson for 30+ years.. so watches are huge in our family... the family safety deposit box has his retirement gift.. this crazy pocket watch.. i forget the kind.. ill look it up at home..

he was also quite a frugal scotsman, he swore by seiko - which i dont think they even sell at J.Vair anymore??

I thought so too. Saw it in person a while ago and this pic certainly doesn't do it justice, it looked veeery nice.
