Re: Any way to fight this ticket?

My girlfriend works for the courts and she's typing this not me.....you should go down to see the first appearance crown and bring all your documentation with you (letter from your insurance company). You will have to stand in line for a long time (usually 1-2 hours) and you explain to the crown that you did not have your card and what your situation is. For example: I did not have my insurance card however I am a starving student with 3 kids to feed. They will cut you some slack. There are instances where people have a speeding ticket and a FTP (fail to produce) and they drop one as long as you pay the other. However the "no Points" is not allowed to be given out only if there is an issue with the identity of the driver. Check with motor vehicles about how many demerits 20km over is (think it is 3-4 points). Failure to produce has no demerits associated with it I believe. So your option may be to plead to one and they drop the other. Your choice but 2 hours of your time VS. $173 FTP and a $124 speeding ticket. Or you could hire a ticket agent to do it for you but FYI you can do the same thing they can for no cost to yourself.

Re: Any way to fight this ticket?

All it took was one simple phone call to the insurance company and they admitted that they never sent out the documentation at all.

They gave me a cheque for $173.00 and got me my pink slips right away.

Now all I have to do is try and get the other ticket lowered, haha.

Thanks for all the help everybody!
