  • Cruise Lines?

Anyone have any experience with cruise lines?

I'm looking at going on a cruise next year to Hawaii, and am totally lost as to which cruise line to go with. Any suggestions that someone can educate me with?

I've done some preliminary research, but it's always nice to get opinions from people who have gone.
Sidewalks are for normal walkin.... aint no room for fancy walkin....

    Re: Cruise Lines?

Well I have only ever been on one cruise (Caribbean) and was quite a few years now, but it was Norwegian Cruise Lines and it was very nice, we had no complaints.

Not to steal your thunder but have to add I booked my hotel in Wolfsburg this morning!!

From working at a travel agency, I got the impression that Carnival is the younger crowd, Royal is older, Princess is cheaper/smaller, Disney if you have kids.

I've been on 3 Carnivals and they were all good. Lots of bars/nightclubs, evening shows, casino etc. Days always have dive or tour trips. And 24 hr food.

for cruise lines, don't look specifically at the lines themselves, most of them are owned by the same company. due to the ocean motion, pick the largest ship you can find for the price you want to spend. you won't feel the rocking of the boat as much. you'll understand when you go and eat!

i wasn't a fan of cruises, most of them do not include alcohol! they say all inclusive but no alcohol. my coworker just got back from a cruise and he said him and his wife spent 1500 on booze alone. and most of the cruises are designed for couples. check out the usual age group that goes on them too.

and having a window is definately worth the extra money.
