Help me- Poll for you office workers.

My company (software developer) has decided to give out some swag to every person we interview. I've been put in charge of coming up with a few ideas at different price points.

The idea is to get our image out. So we don't want something that people will throw in a drawer or take home and rarely use. We do want something that people will use in public or take to their office or place of work and show off.

It has to appeal to lots of kinds of people but we are a software developer so nerdy/geeky things are also good. It has to be something we can brand with our logo.

Looking for ideas.

What would you actually like to get as free swag?

I'll update this post with the top ideas. Maybe I can get the person who comes up with the idea we do eventually use one of the items for free as a reward

Typical things I have received that get use at my desk:

Those spring loaded belt clips for security access cards
Foam 'squeeze' things of various shapes and colours
mouse pad/mouse surface
Coffee mug - stainless and insulated with spill resistant lid are the only ones that don't get tossed in the trash.
Nalgene style water bottle (polycarbonate plastic with screw cap)
backpacks/shoulder bags

not that I would wear personally, but I see a lot of people with jackets/hoodies/fleece branded with various company logos in the elevator each morning.

I'm sure there are other things as well, but those are the things that tend to get use on my desk as well as co-workers desks.

Thanks, we already thought up:

- Nalgene bottle
- Mouse Surface
- USB Mem Stick
- Earbud headphones for iPods

Those are our top 4 actually right now.

But other ideas are welcome and I'll pass them on

one of the most used things i had once was a retracting ethernet cable. its stored in small, dual spindle, sprung, self winding (retracting) cassette about the size of a small cell phone but as thick as an RJ45 plug. when you want to use it you pull both plugs and it extends to about a meter of ehternet cable. was great when i used to travel a lot with my laptop, no messing around with coiling enet cable n stuf all the time. and left more room in my bag.

Other suggestions,
small 4 port USB hub with flying lead attached
maybe car phone chargers etc. (particluarly for nokia phones as that swhat i have and need the charger for )

I saw some CD shaped magnets that had all different words on them so you can brake them apart and make funny sentences. It would be a good idea for a software company.

Decent looking desk clock maybe? Ethernet cable spool is cool, seen those before. We do the memory sticks - useful but pretty common.

the memory sticks are good, but i'll say the whole keychain idea is one of the best ideas out there. they'll either have it on their keychain or attach it to their bags etc. The keychain led light should be really cheap and everyone loves them. people tend to attach these to everything, and if they have kids. they'll give it to the kids and they'll have it attached to something.

I think we have some swag now or almost ready, but I am a bit out of the loop now :( Been busy on another project so I would have to ask around.
