Not sure but I think the standard is usually 7% on the first 100,000 and 3% after that. I think some will negotiate.

                  Re: Real estate/Home Selling Help

I would look at getting a 'home stager' to come check out your home. He/she will give you suggestions on what should be changed, and give you a whole host of tips on things to do to help the house sell. We used one to sell our house this last weekend. Listed it for 2 days, and it sold for $30k over asking price. She charged us $50/hr, and supplied a bunch of accessories to turn our house into a show home for the weekend during the open house. I think we got our money back about 20* what we paid her. I think the slower the market is that you are selling in, the more benefit a home stager will be. Who ever you end up with as a realtor should be able to put you in touch with someone like this. If not, PM me and I'll contact the lady we use to see if she knows anyone in the city you're selling... Saskatoon I think?

                        Re: Real estate/Home Selling Help

I know some of the realtors will drop to 5% n 3% if you negotiate. A couple of my friends have done that. Theres nothing to that says it has to be 7%.

Now in saying that, are they gonna do there best for ya after you beat m down? dunno!
                        Eric..

                          bump
anyone else have any realtor suggestions for the sw corner of the city?

talked to a fellow co-worker who buys/sells alot of homes he has told me to interview 3-4 different realtors and choose from there. he also strongly suggests using we-list/fsbo for a 1-2week period before going to the realtor of choose as he seems to think the market in my area is strong enough to get things done on our own using lawyers only and in the end still be up a bit.

                            Re: Real estate/Home Selling Help

There is that dood who is always selling houses in Evergreen, Jon Dick is his name. My neighbor used him and his house was sold very quickly.

We sold our previous house in Millrise ourselves (ie: FS by owner), it was sold within a week. Very easy, quick, hassle free. I would DEFINATELY consider doing it.

i was tempted to do FSBO but i didn't want the hassels in the end.. plus the girl i used she sells houses up here in the NW in 1-5 days and they are gone.. but i'm making a TON of money on the sale of my place.. if cash was tighter i'd def go FSBO
