  • Anybody work with steel n welding etc

    Hey,

Im in the middle of finishing my basement and have had my punch bag slung over a center beam until now but as im going to be dry walling around the beam i was wondering if anyone would be able to help me make a support that i can put round the beam and have some sort of nut on the bottom to screw a sky hook into after the dry wall is finished n re hang the bag.

was just thinking of a couple of steel plates with some screwed bar holding them together, unfortunately i no longer have access to steel plate, cutting tools n welding etc.

Anyone able to help me out?
    any other ides also welcome!

    Cheers,
    K..

I bet you can make something with home depot parts and no welding.

I was thinking i could do it with nuts n bolts if i cant get a weld but itll have to be pretty strong plate to hold the bag while its swinging without bending the only real weld i was thinking of was to fasten a nut to the plate for a sky hook. Not sure that id be able to drill the holes in that sort of stuff with the tools i have or the lack thereof.

Ahh well fingers crossed someone might be able to help out.

Ahhh nice link thanks for that,
the one you linked is for a speed bag n prob wont take the weight of the heavy bag but right next door to it are two heavy mounts n cheap as well.

Thanks Volks made my life a damn site easier
