This isn't to compete against this site, but no doubt some of you that frquent the PNW scene will slowly be wondering what has happend to theDOV.

It has in the last few months/year and a bit gone to complete shite so a few of the grandfathers of the community have taken it upon themselves to build a new community.

Just went to check it out. You need to register though before you can read any of....well anything.

I like to peruse a forum and see if I like it before I register. Mostly because I don't want to clutter up their users if i'm not going to be a regular.

-Looks like it's mainly for people in the vancouver island area

-Looks lame, no character. Internet forums need the odd 13yo to make everyone feel better about themselves. Duh

It might be decent if you were looking to buy a used VW, from vancouver island. They seem to have a few.

Ya doesn't look to helpful for anyone in Alberta. Just like this forum is pretty much Alberta people.

it's definetly not island only people, coker rat obviously didn't do much reading. there is an island only section just because those on the island wanted a place where they could talk about things and sell things specifically island related. there are a few AB people on there i have seen already, and the classifieds will soon replace dovforums.com as the place everyone goes to sell their stuff.

there was a bit of a revolt (long time coming) against the old admin/site owner who had been butchering vwdov.ca and its incarnates for the last 3 years, so some of the old members took the initiative and built a new site for us.

this gets it back to the old vwdov.ca days for those of you that remember it.
