  • Painting mesh??

    Anyone ever done this before?
I bought a can of flat black rust paint for my mesh job. My buddy mike painted his and he said it flaked off so he got it powder coated and its never coming off now. 2 meets ago kris said I should just do like 8 coats and it should be fine.
I think I'm just going to use the whole can of paint on all the pieces so its on there good and use it for a few weeks and see how it holds up.

i used specialized metal spray paint from canadian tire to paint the mesh on my kamei grill.

2 weeks later, it had begun chipping off. I only did 2 layers though.

Next time I'm going to do 8 layers, and I'll do it everytime before a big carshow.

Maybe a clear coat would help keep it from flaking?!?!?

I haven't actually DONE this so if it flakes off its not my fault. However, if I wanted to do it myself I would prime the surface and then do a TON of really thin coats, letting them dry between each other....

Anyway the paint is cheap so if you screw up you're not out too much dough..
