  • White vs Black Paint

I'm wondering how maintenance would be on white paint (like Ibis White) vs. black paint? Does anyone have any experience with this? I've owned a couple of black cars and, as we all know, maintaining the paint (wash/anti-swirl/glaze/wax) can be very time consuming. Also keeping black looking clean is impossible.

Is white easier? How are swirls on white... noticeable? Can you see road film on it?

    Just wondering.

    Uhhh isn't your car red?

White will be hard to keep clean, but won't show swirls I bet.

I hated my white car, always looked grubby and yellow unless it was just washed...

Yeah, the A3 is red. But I'm thinking ahead... maybe not too far ahead.

I was also thinking that it wouldn't show swirls as much.

Do you think black would be better than white, or is it that they are both just as bad?

          ...

Even if white is a bit easier to keep clean, black with another color makes a better color combo then white does. Just my opinion

I generally prefer black, but really it depends on the car.

Just to clarify, I am not thinking of painting the A3. I am thinking about a different car altogether.

Black all the way. Sure it's a pig to keep clean, but nothing looks better than a shiny black car.

I've always been a fan of white cars, they look clean and simple.
